Using Abyssinian Oil for Hair & Skin
Reviews
Lightweight and fast-absorbing, our abyssinian oil (also known as Crambe abyssinica seed oil) delivers silicone-free shine for hair and comfortable nourishment for skin — without a greasy feel. Naturally rich in long-chain omega fatty acids and vitamin E, this cold pressed abyssinian oil is a gentle, multi-tasking oil for all hair and skin types.

Aroma, Feel & Origin: Pale gold seed oil with a subtle natural aroma. Sourced from South Africa.
Nutrients: High in long-chain unsaturated fatty acids (incl. erucic, C22) for slip, conditioning and lightweight feel.
Good for: Hair and all skin types needing light nourishment.
What is Abyssinian Oil? A feather-light, non-greasy oil rich in omega fatty acids and vitamin E — comfortable for face, hair and nails.
High in omega-9 and surface antioxidants, our abyssinian oil for skin helps lock in moisture, soften rough patches, and support a smooth, comfortable complexion. The non-greasy finish works for oily, combination, dry and sensitive skin types.
It can add a healthy-looking lustre to dull skin and offers a lightweight option in colder months when skin needs extra comfort.
This ultra-light oil coats each strand to add shine, reduce frizz and improve manageability — without heaviness. Use as a leave-in on mid-lengths and ends or as a pre-wash treatment. Suitable for dry, damaged or colour-treated hair and for a comfortable scalp massage. Many people enjoy it as a vegan hair oil and natural hair serum when avoiding silicones.
Massage a few drops into nails and cuticles to help condition and protect. Absorbs quickly and leaves hands soft.
Press 2–3 drops into clean, damp skin morning or evening. Layer over water-based serums to seal in hydration.
Warm a small amount between palms and smooth through mid-lengths to ends on damp or dry hair. As a scalp treatment, massage in, leave 15–30 minutes, then shampoo. Read our tips in Abyssinian Oil for Hair.
Massage a drop into each nail and surrounding skin daily.
“Beautiful oil, arrived quickly and well wrapped without plastic, amazing how it sinks into my skin without any oily residue left behind. I would almost describe it as silky on my skin. I am very happy with this oil, thank you.” — Helen
INCI: Crambe abyssinica (abyssinian) seed oil*
Yes. Its feather-light, fast-absorbing texture suits oily, combination, dry and sensitive skin.
Absolutely — massage into the scalp for comfort, then shampoo as usual.
Abyssinian is lighter and absorbs faster (great for fine hair and daily facial use); Argan is slightly richer and more occlusive.
Pure, cold-pressed abyssinian oil is virtually odourless with a faint, natural note — no added fragrance.
